Back in April 1948, In a speech, delivered by the Provincial Grand Chaplain at the formation of Moorland Lodge, he said:
“May the lodge be a light of life’s Moorland, pointing out the true road through the darkness that prevails and the blizzard that is raging about us all. A guiding light to many who might otherwise miss the way.”

It seems like, even 75 years later, some things never change and the need to improve the morals and manners of men and society is still as important as ever.

The annual cost to be a member of Moorland Lodge back in 1948 was only Four pounds & four shillings (some things do change!).

Over the next few years, the membership of Moorland Lodge grew considerably and it was not long before larger premises had to be found to accommodate everyone.

Our longest serving member became a Freemason and member of Moorland Lodge back on 24th May 1967!
On 21st April 2023, Moorland Lodge celebrated its 75th Anniversary and remains the biggest Lodge in the Bradford District and one of the largest Lodges in Yorkshire.

Moorland Lodge is an All-Inclusive organisation and current members come from a wide array of backgrounds, including Builders, Accountants, Plumbers, Civil Servants, Insurance brokers, IT Specialists, Sales Professionals, Florists, Shopkeepers, Armed Forces, etc.

Many of our members are former Rotarians or previous members of Round Table. People who like to “Give something Back” whilst having fun in the process.

To ensure the ongoing success and harmony of Moorland Lodge, members are actively encouraged NOT to discuss Politics or Religion during our meetings. We prefer to focus on more positive topics, such as helping others and raising much needed funds for those in need.
