We have a saying in Freemasonry:
“Family comes First, Work Second and Freemasonry Third”
Masons in Moorland Lodge will tell you that progression through Freemasonry can only thrive with the support of our wives/ partners, our family and our loved ones.
The time you choose to invest in Freemasonry will be partly taken up by attending various social, family and Charitable events.
These events are the backbone of all Masonic Lodges throughout the world and Moorland Lodge in particular.
Freemasonry is one of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world having thrived for over 300 years.
With no Religious or Political affiliations, we welcome men over the age of 21, irrespective of their race, religion, culture or background.
Our aim is to make Good Men Better; to empower our members to be the best they can be.
Becoming a Freemason is all about building ones character, supporting others and helping people make a positive contribution to society.
For Freemasons, there are four important values to uphold through life:
Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity.
Freemasonry provides a structure for members to come together under these core principles, enabling people to make new friendships, develop themselves and make valuable contributions to charitable causes and their local community.
We are one of the largest charitable givers in the country, contributing £51.1m to deserving causes in 2020.

Yorkshire Freemasons Thank Ripon City Golf Club for Putting on a very successful Charity Golf Day
On Monday 4th September, over 60 golfers entered the Final of the 90th Iconic Harewood Trophy Golf Tournament, to raise money for Yorkshire West Riding Masonic Charities Ltd. Since its inception back in 1933, members of the Yorkshire West Riding Masonic Golf Association have donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to the YWRMCL. However, since the Pandemic, support for this prestigious event had dwindled dramatically and, as a result, over recent years, the amount raised had also declined considerably. Until this year, when, on a beautiful sunny day, the golfers drove off to try and beat the course record and [...]

What do we do?
We meet at Hoyle Court, Baildon, near Shipley where we continue to hold traditional ceremonies which not only encourage us to be more tolerant and respectful but also to become more compassionate, by supporting those less fortunate than ourselves.
We also make time to eat, drink, have lots of fun and form lifelong friendships.
What are our aims?
• We aim to attract men from all backgrounds, all professions and all walks of life.
• We aim to help and guide them to develop into more thoughtful and confident people.
• We aim to inspire and challenge them to practise the core values we celebrate – Integrity, Friendship, Respect, Charity – in both their personal and public lives.
• We aim to continue to build on our reputation as being a force for good in our communities and society at large and as a thriving organisation that men aspire to join.
What are our Core Values?
INTEGRITY
Rather than building impressive structures like the masons of old, today’s Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and by becoming a Freemason, we will help you to achieve that goal.
FRIENDSHIP
As one of the oldest social organisations in the world, Freemasonry is open to men from all religions and political persuasions and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.
RESPECT
There are currently over 250,000 Freemasons here in the UK and over 6,000,000 worldwide. Moorland Lodge is the Largest Lodge in the Bradford District and one of the Largest Lodges in West Yorkshire. Whether you’re a Builder or a Barrister, a Designer or a Doctor, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their profession, race, religion or any other perceived differences which can potentially divide us as a society.
CHARITY
Freemasons are actively encouraged to promote compassion, kindness and charitable giving wherever possible.
Everyone at Moorland Lodge helps make a positive contribution to our local community and other worthwhile causes through regular fundraising events and volunteer work.
